How it works

Three steps, and you stay in control

  1. You fill in the form.

    We only ask what lenders need to know whether they can help.

  2. We pass it on, with your permission.

    Your request goes to lending partners who serve your province.

  3. A lender may contact you.

    They explain their rates, terms and fees in writing. You decide, with no obligation.

Know before you borrow

Rates, terms and costs

Missing payments can lead to extra fees and can lower your credit score. Only borrow what you can repay, and compare offers before you accept one.

Annual percentage rate (APR)
9.99% to 35.00%
Repayment term
3 to 60 months
Loan amounts
$250 to $50,000

Representative example: a loan of $1,000.00 at 29.99% APR over 12 months has monthly payments of $97.48. You repay $1,169.76 in total, so the cost of borrowing is $169.76.

Fees: Using this site is free. If a payment is missed, the lender may charge an insufficient funds fee of around $45 (it depends on the lender). Lenders must disclose every fee in writing before you sign.

Each lender sets its own rate, term and fees based on your credit history, income and province. Before you sign anything, the lender must give you a written disclosure showing:

  • the annual percentage rate (APR) and the total cost of borrowing;
  • the term, the payment amount and the payment schedule;
  • every fee, including fees for a late or returned payment;
  • what happens if you miss a payment.

Questions

Something else on your mind? Contact us

Is EduFinance Canada a lender?

No. We do not lend money or make credit decisions. We pass your request to lending partners, and any loan is between you and the lender.

Does it cost anything?

No. Using this site is free, and you are never obliged to accept an offer.

Will this affect my credit score?

Sending the form does not, because we do not check your credit. A lender that contacts you will tell you before it runs a credit check, and whether that check is soft or hard.

Who will see my information?

Only us and the lending partners that serve your province, and only to respond to your request. We do not sell it to anyone else. Our privacy policy has the details.

Can I change my mind?

Yes. Write to us at any time to withdraw your consent or to ask us to delete your information.
